Star Tobacco International opens its Indonesian Headquarters
Star Tobacco International officially opened its new Sale & Marketing Headquarters in Bali Denpasar today, with a launch party attended by various members of the Indonesian Tobacco Industry
The new company operates under the name P. T. Far East Tobacco Company (FETC). The two day event commenced with a Welcome dinner at the Sanur Paradise Hotel hosted by Star’s Group CEO Iqbal Lambat. This was followed the next day by presentations on Star’s Tobacco Leaf sourcing programs by FETC General Manager Henri Kusuma, as well as a visit to its Sample room to inspect and smoke various Tobaccos from Africa, South America and Europe.
FETC’s Management offices are located in the prestigious Renon district of Denpasar. The Company has appointed Sales agents to cover the territories of East Java, Central Java and, Sumatra. FETC also maintains a Tobacco Sales depot in Jember East Java, where some 500 Tons of Tobaccos and Derivatives of all origins are offered for immediate sale and delivery. «Our capability to offer International Tobaccos for sale, customs cleared and ready to load immediately onto customer trucks, provides us with a unique competitive edge in the Industry» commented Kusuma. «This is especially important for Small and Medium sized companies as it significantly reduces their financing period versus purchasing from Origin.»
Indonesia is now the third largest Tobacco market in the world with annual consumption crossing 330 Billion cigarettes placing it only behind China and Russia. Indonesia is poised to surpass Russia as the number two country by consumption worldwide before 2020.
