Government rescinds tobacco brand ban in France

The government has annulled a ban on selected tobacco brands including Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG’s) Cafe Creme cigars in response to a French administrative court ruling, the cigar maker said.

In February, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Budget published a list of tobacco product brands found non-compliant with the Health Code and said they would be banned from February 2018. A Conseil d'Etat administrative court ruling in a case not involving STG set aside the provision...
